About me
Welcome to teacupyogi,
My name is Yamuna, my pronouns are she/her. I started my yoga journey in 2004 after the death of a loved one. I needed to soothe my soul and heal my heart. Divine guidance led me to Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. I quickly adapted to the practice and became a certified hatha yoga teacher in 2008. In 2015 I continued my journey with Integral Yoga Institute gaining certifications in Hatha Intermediate, Adaptive & Chair Yoga, and Accessible Yoga.
Over the years yoga continues to soothe my soul, and heals my heart.
My goal is to bring yoga to EVERY BODY. I look forward to sharing the gift of yoga with you!
With love, Yamuna

Yoga is for Every Body!
God is our teacup and we are the tea. We are created to live full and die empty. We should also realize your cup of tea may be different from my cup of tea. Meaning that God uses different ingredients to pour into us because he has a different plan for each one of us. "kingsskid"
YAMA: Reflection of our True Nature
Embracing reverence and love for all (Ahimsa), experience oneness.
Dedicated to truth and integrity (Satya), our thoughts, words, and actions gain the power to manifest.
Abiding in generosity and honesty (Astheya), material and spiritual prosperity is bestowed.
Devoted to living a balanced and moderate life (Brahmacharya), the scope of one’s life force become boundless.
Acknowledging abundance (Aparigraha), we recognize the blessing in everything and gain insight into the purpose of our worldly existence.
NIYAMA: Evolution Toward Harmony
Through simplicity and continual refinement (Saucha), the body, thoughts, and emotions become clear reflection of the Self within.
Saucha reveals our joyful nature, and the yearning for knowing the Self blossoms.
When at peace and contend with oneself and other (Santosha), supreme joy is celebrated.
Living life with zeal and sincerity, the purifying flame is ignited (Tapas), revealing the inner light.
Sacred study of the Divine through scripture, nature, and introspection (Swadhaya), guides us to the Supreme Self.
Through wholehearted dedication (Iswara Pranidhana), we become intoxicated with the Divine.
